Jenny Laszlo as Dorothy

WiDE AWAKE and DREAMiNG
is the story of Dorothy, a lonely woman who discovers lucid dreaming as an escape from "real life."

Lucid dreaming (a concept of dream psychology where you can achieve conscious awareness during the dream state) is not unlike the experience of seeing a film. In a darkened theater, surrounded by a collective hush, you leave your own life behind and enter whatever reality is being shown onscreen.

Wide Awake and Dreaming is part homage to Chris Marker's classic experimental film La Jetée; part sum total of every bedtime story with a Cinderella, Dorothy, and Alice. A neo-fairy tale, this film takes a darker look at escaping the reality of this modern life.
